Privacy without a hidden archive

ClearComments processes public YouTube comments for the analysis you request. Channel targets, comments and reports are not retained by ClearComments.

Effective 27 August 2026

Data we access

When you submit a public video, channel ID or channel handle, ClearComments requests public channel or video metadata, public comments and public replies from the YouTube Data API. API responses can include public author display names, author channel IDs, profile images, comment text, timestamps, likes and reply counts.

How the data is used

The browser displays, searches, sorts, filters and exports the comments you loaded. It also applies deterministic review signals and builds statistics, giveaway results, chapter suggestions and downloadable reports. ClearComments does not use generative AI and does not sell personal information.

Storage and retention

Targets, comments, replies and generated reports remain in browser memory only. They are removed when the page is reloaded or closed and are not written to Local Storage, Session Storage, IndexedDB, Cache Storage, a ClearComments database or the proxy cache.

The browser may store only the light/dark theme preference. The YouTube proxy stores one anonymous daily quota counter for up to two days. It contains no channel, video, search, comment, user or IP value.

Services involved

YouTube API requests pass through a restricted Cloudflare Worker and then to Google. ClearComments has no account system and never asks for or stores YouTube login credentials.

Use of YouTube features is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

Your controls and contact

Reload or close the app to remove an analysis. Local preferences can be cleared from the Data Deletion page. A public privacy contact address will be published before the final production domain is launched.
